Bristol goes to the polls
Four Bristol seats – Bristol East, Bristol North West, Bristol South and Bristol West – are being contested in the general election on Thursday, with Bristol West and Bristol North West among the marginal constituencies that could decide the makeup of the new government, if any government is able to form at all.

Electors in the city can also vote for their councillor in the following 24 wards: Ashley, Bedminster, Bishopsworth, Brislington East, Brislington West, Cabot, Clifton, Clifton East, Cotham, Easton, Eastville, Filwood, Frome Vale, Hartcliffe, Hengrove, Hillfields, Knowle, Lawrence Hill, St George East, St George West, Southville, Stockwood, Whitchurch and Windmill Hill.
Across the city there are more than 100 polling stations, in schools, libraries, community centres, churches, scout huts and sports centres. Some voters in Clifton will even put a cross in the box in the Apostle Room of the Catholic cathedral.

On Thursday evening, the counts will be taking place at the City Academy in Redfield and Oasis Academy Brislington. All local election counts are taking place at City Academy on Friday.

Bristol24/7 will have reporters and photographers at both general election counts. Follow our live coverage here from 10pm.
