Bristol couple get engaged on Shaun trail
Could this be the most romantic thing to have happened in close proximity to a sheep in Bristol?
The Isambaaard Shaun in the City statue had the honour of witnessing the engagement of a pair of keen fans.
Richard Haughton, 37, popped the question to Nina Adams, 31, from Little Stoke, at the Iambaaard Shaun next to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
is needed now More than ever

Richard said, “I wanted to do something a little different and that we would remember fondly. I decided to propose at a Shaun as it meant I could surprise her, get a photo of her reaction while pretending to capture her visiting a Shaun, and that we could buy the figurine to act as a reminder.
“I had planned to propose in front of ‘Wish Ewe Were Here’ at the Avon Gorge Hotel, but just as I was going to do it a group of girls came up and stood right behind him! So I decided to do it at ‘Isambaaard’ with the bridge in the background.
“It turned out to be the perfect location with only a few bemused onlookers. Nina was suitably surprised and luckily said yes!”
Nina said, “I’m very excited and was over the moon when I saw the ring. I still can’t believe that it happened! It was perfect.

“We found all 80 Gromit sculptures two years ago and now looking for the rest of the Shauns will be even more special.
“We are now looking forward to planning the wedding. We may even go for a ‘Shaun in the City’ theme for the table names!”
The Shaun in the City trail runs until August 31, with the flock of 70 sculptures then being auctioned this autumn to raise funds for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
