Arrest after serious hit and run in Bristol
A serious road traffic collision involving a driver and cyclist has led to one arrest.
Police were called to North Street in Bedminster just after 12.30pm on Sunday following reports of the incident.
The force said the car left the scene of the crash.
Following inquiries to locate the vehicle, police arrested a suspect in connection with the collision.
The scene remains closed to traffic between the Masonic pub and Lupe bar and kitchen while investigations continue.
A cordon remained in place on the high street while forensics attended the scene
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision or who may have relevant doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting the reference number 5226009040.
