Arrest after reports of homophobic comments and Pride flags torn down
Pride flags were torn down and homophobic comments reportedly made in an incident outside a primary school.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal damage after multiple reports of a hate crime.
At least a dozen people including staff and parents of children at Ashton Gate Primary School contacted police online after the man tore down three Pride flags around 7pm on Friday.
The man was arrested on Monday in Bedminster, and was then further arrested on suspicion of drug and weapons offences after police found suspected cocaine and other items.
The suspect remains in custody.
