Abandoned puppies searching for a new home
Harry, Ron, Fred and George were found tied together with a rope on the Lawrence Hill section of the Bristol & Bath Railway Path.
Potter was found on offer as a ‘free puppy’ at a local pub.
Described as being ‘underweight and in poor condition’, the five puppies were recently brought to Bristol Animal Rescue Centre by good samaritans and are now looking for foster carers.
is needed now More than ever
The puppies are all believed to be around five months old and to have come from the same litter.
The Centre says the puppies will need ‘a lot of care and rehabilitation’ and that their abandonment highlights the ‘growing issue of pet abandonment in Bristol’.
In 2023, the RSPCA received 72,050 reports about animal abandonment and neglect across the UK.

Ron will likely need surgery to combat ‘cherry eye’, a common condition in some dog breeds where the third eyelid gland prolapses
Kayleigh Jefferies, foster coordinator at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre, said getting the puppies “out of kennels and into loving foster homes will help them build confidence and prepare for their forever families”.
She added: “We are particularly looking for experienced foster carers who are comfortable with all that puppies bring to a household.”
