Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm’s new carnivore project taking shape

By Bristol 24/7  Thursday Jan 2, 2025

‘Project Carnivora’ at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm aims to champion the welfare and conservation of some of the world’s most threatened carnivores including African lions, tigers, Arctic foxes and critically endangered vultures.

Work has already started on Project Carnivora which will see the existing lion pride’s habitat altered to create brand new spaces for lions Arusha, Kojo and Tau, giving them more room to roam; as well as new viewing areas for their human visitors.

A new tiger habitat will also be opening in 2025 as the zoo plans to become the home for a rescued tiger, with zoo bosses hoping the public will be able to help raise the final £175,000 needed to build the new habitat.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm director, Larry Bush, said: “Project Carnivora will offer carefully designed habitats in a secluded, rural setting that celebrate incredible predators, providing next-level care and raising awareness for their conservation.

“The project will be delivered in phases, with a focus on doing each to a really high standard to benefit the welfare of each species and provide an immersive and inspiring visitor experience.

“This is a truly ambitious project, and we’re calling on the public to help us make it a reality by donating whatever you are able.”
