12 fire engines attend serious house fire
A dozen fire engines rushed to a serious house fire.
The blaze in Leigh Woods on Thursday morning is believed to have started in a flat before spreading to a house next door.
A section of a roof in a home on Bannerleigh Road on the North Somerset side of the Clifton Suspension Bridge has been badly burnt with the timber frames visible.

Bridge Road in Leigh Woods was closed for much of Thursday while fire crews and police remained at the scene, with cordons also on North Road and Vicarage Road.

In a post on social media soon before 8am, Avon & Fire Rescue Service said: “We advise you to avoid the area while we respond to a flat fire on Bannerleigh Road, Leigh Woods.
“We have at 12 fire engines at the incident, alongside specialist appliances including two turntable ladders and command unit.
“No one has been injured.”
