WELSH NATIONAL OPERA: A Shakespeare inspired week kicks off with Andre Tchaikowsky’s The Merchant of Venice. Hippodrome, 7pm.

SHIPPED: As part of Theatre West’s autumn new-writing season, recent University of Bristol graduate Eno Mfon’s Shipped tells the story of a young British girl who is sent to her family in Nigeria for the summer. Hamilton House, 8pm.

HEDWIG HOUBEN: OTHERS AND I: Dutch artist Hedwig Houben’s first UK solo exhibition encompassing film, performance, sculpture and text. Spike Island.
