MARC O’REILLY/ L’AUPAIRE: Irish songwriter O’Reilly (pictured top) has a gritty modern take on folk and blues that has drawn favourable comparisons with John Martyn and Bon Iver. Louisiana, 7.30pm.

THE GRINNING MAN: A macabre, tragicomic, Bristol-set musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel The Man Who Laughs. Bristol Old Vic, 7.30pm.

BRISTOL BAD FILM CLUB: PAROLE VIOLATORS: Bad guys with bad dialogue get bottoms whupped in Patrick G Donohue’s 1994 film. Bierkeller, 8pm.

CLARE TEAL AND HER TRIO: From swing to sublime ballads, Clare and her Trio perform their fabulous arrangements, interspersed with Clare’s warm and witty storytelling. St George’s, 7.30pm.

WILDSCREEN DAY 4: Take a journey into the wild with more public screenings. Film include Tribes, Predators and Me, John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure, An Elephants tale: The Matriarch and Naledi: A Baby Elphant’s Tale. Watershed.

GINSPIRATIONAL: Gin Club returns to The Milk Thistle. This month’s tipple is Curio Gin, produced on the rugged Cornish coast of Mullion.

LO AND BEHOLD + SATELLITE Q&A: In this documentary, Werner Herzog turns his attention to the internet for 10 chapters of philosophical musings about our increased reliance upon the online world. Watershed and Everyman.
