MADE IN BRISTOL GIFT FAIR: Bristol’s biggest and most prestigious designer-maker fair, filling the Colston Hall foyer with more than 200 stalls. 10am-4pm. 

THE BRISTOL ARTISAN: A gathering of designers and makers from the South West, with unique gifts on sale in time for Christmas. The Forge, 12-6pm. 

BLOOD SPORT/ GIANT SWAN/ SUPPORT: Dance infused noise band from Sheffield joins electronic project Giant Swan, plus support. Crofters Rights, 9pm.

CIRCOMEDIA OPEN DAY: Find out about the circus and physical theatre school’s foundation and vocational courses. Circomedia, 10am.

CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL: A choice selection of local and national craft beers, alongside talks, demos, live music, table tennis and pies. Spiegeltent, midday – 6pm.

IGers BRISTOL INSTAMEET: Keen Instagram photographers will be taking in Redcliffe, Totterdown, Victoria Park, Bedminster and Southville on this organised walk. Meet at St Mary Redcliffe, 1pm.

ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS FAIR: Over 40 stands selling Christmassy wares from local businesses. At-Bristol, 10am-3pm.

ODYSSEY: One actor. One hour. One man’s epic quest to reunite with his family and seek his bloody revenge. The Wardrobe Theatre, 8pm.  

NORTH BRISTOL ART TRAIL: 109 artists in 57 venues around Montpelier, St Andrews, Ashley Down, Bishopston, Henleaze and Redland. Various venues. 

PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA & CHORAL SOCIETY: Performing two vibrant cityscapes and a Te Deum fit for a Queen. Colston Hall, 7.30pm.

STAND UP FOR THE WEEKEND: CHRIS MARTIN: One of the finest up and coming observational comics. Comedy Box at the Hen and Chicken, 8.45pm. 

PATERSON: Jim Jarmusch’s drama about a bus-driving poet. Watershed.
