M Shed was filled to the brim with people eagerly taking in the curation of panels, talks and workshops to mark International Women’s Day 2025.
International Women’s Day is annual celebration where people across the world recognise women’s achievements and campaign for women’s equality.
The event was hosted in collaboration with Bristol City Council and the ALICE Project.
is needed now More than ever
Workshops included self-defence training, by Emilia Jastrzebska of the Roger Gracie Academy, and a life drawing class, run by Antonia Purdie of Purdie Life Drawing. Panels included discussions on the realities of working life for women in the journalism, radio and food industries.
The day time event was so popular it sold-out.
After the daytime events, attendees were treated to an afterparty at the Bristol Museum, the first time the museum opened up for an event of this kind.
