Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day eight

Unseen is a Bristol charity helping the victims of human trafficking here in the UK.

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery, without the physical chains. Unseen predicts that there are 13,000 slaves in Britain today, and they are determined to put an end to this exploitation of vulnerable men, women and children.

The charity offers professional counselling and re-housing for victims so they can start to recover from their abuse before rebuilding a life for themselves.

They are also tackling the supply and demand of these vulnerable people by working with local businesses and organisations in the community.

Here’s how your donation will be spent:

– £3 is enough to provide a meal for a survivor at Unseen’s safe-house
– £10 could pay for a welcome pack of toiletries
– £25 could pay for a clothing package of essentials
– £40 could pay for one counselling session for a survivor
