Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day 17

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Dec 13, 2016

Mercy Ships provides the world’s largest charitable floating hospital. They bring free medical care to some of the world’s poorest people and are staffed almost entirely by volunteers.

Their team of nurses, doctors, surgeons, and other crew members donate their time to provide lifesaving medical care in the poorest parts of the world.

The boat has been running since 1978 and in that time has helped more than two-and-a-half million people, but none of this would be possible without their dedicated supporters.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

This Christmas, Mercy Ships is bringing festive cheer to Bristol to raise money for the charity. At 3.30pm on Saturday, December 17, they will be holding a Christmas carol service in Bristol Cathedral.

Singing at the service will be led by Bristol Cathedral Choir, with mulled wine and mince pies to be served at the end.
