Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day 15
Southmead Hospital Charity raises money to support North Bristol NHS Trust which includes Southmead Hospital, Cossham Hospital and community health services in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
All of the projects that the charity funds makes visiting or staying in one of these hospitals a better experience for patients and their families. Thanks to donors and supporters they are able to fund medical research, specialist equipment and staff development.
They also help to fund the Fresh Arts programme which makes a positive and welcoming difference to hospitals through its performance and arts projects
The charity supports over 300 different funds representing departments and wards throughout the Trust, from neurology to NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care), from renal to radiology. This means supporters can ensure their money goes to exactly the cause that’s close to their hearts.
Earlier this year they launched their most ambitious Appeal yet – to raise £2 million to buy two new surgical robots to treat local men with prostate cancer.
