A walk with amazing views of Bristol

By Vivien Nagy  Friday May 10, 2019

Developed as part of the Bristol Green Capital 2015 celebrations, the Bristol South Skyline Walk is a chance to explore Arnos Vale, Knowle, Bedminster and Southville.

There’s a short and long route, the shorter taking about an hour and a half and the longer taking four hours. Both go through Victoria Park and the short route is accessible for all, the track on hard pavements with easy access to bus stops into the city centre. They have recently launched an app for walkers and Vivien Nagy tested it out and took some great photos of the city’s skyline:

Arnos Vale Cemetery is a great start to the Bristol South Skyline Walk

The cemetery is over 45 acres in size, leading lots of hidden paths to explore.

A unpredictable day leading to sun and showers as the route progresses, with steps leading through of the cemetery

The well-known buildings of the cemetery, where everything from craft stalls are held to scary movies shown to fear lovers.

Another hidden spot in the cemetery.

The walk winds through the green spaces of south Bristol, changing with the seasons.

Some of Bristol’s street art makes an appearance.

A great space for families, people needing a little peace and quiet and dog walkers, Victoria Park is an expanse of green to enjoy.

The shorter route is accessible, with pavement throughout.

The St Mary Redcliffe Maze is one of the fun landmarks to spot on the route.

Glimpses of the Bristol skyline.

Blossom falling in Perrett Park.

The walk offers unrivalled views of the city, and a great picnic spot or two as well.
