10 years of Bristol24/7: Jayde Adams
When we were thinking of who could be the cover star for the launch of the newly redesigned Bristol24/7 magazine in 2023, there was only one person who it could be.

There are not many prouder Bristolians than Jayde, who moved back to her home city in 2021 and documented the renovation of her Victorian terrace on Instagram.
Since her days of working on the fish counter at Asda in Bedminster, Jayde has become a household name in no small part due to her stint on Strictly Come Dancing and – perhaps the greatest of all accolades – being named Bristol24/7’s Person of the Year in 2022.
After studying drama, theatre and media at the University of Glamorgan, her showbiz career started in London’s LGBTQ+ drag and cabaret scene, performing as an Adele drag act and helping to found club night Sink The Pink while performing stand-up on the side.
In 2014 – the year that Bristol24/7 was founded – Jayde won the Funny Women Awards.
Two years later, she was nominated for best newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and in 2019 her latest Edinburgh show The Ballad of Kylie Jenner’s Old Face was renamed Serious Black Jumper for an Amazon Prime special.
She is a regular on panel shows, has hosted programmes including Channel 4’s Snackmasters, and wrote and starred in her debut sitcom Ruby Sitcom in 2023, set in her beloved Bristol of course.
