Blind date: Alex and Eleanor

Airfreight employee Alex, 29, and sales and design consultant Eleanor, 23, tested out their dancing skills with a cha cha cha dance class.

Alex:

Have you ever been on a blind date before?

No, this was a first for me.

What did you think of this experience as a first date?

It was fun, although I’m not much of a dancer so an hour of Cha Cha Cha was a challenge. I think I would prefer to go to the rum tasting or an Alpaca walk.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?

She was a bit late but seemed nice when she did arrive.

What did you talk about?

We spoke about lots, but the conversation about dogs was the one I enjoyed the most.

What was the atmosphere of the date like?

Pretty relaxed as a whole and lots of laughing, mainly at the expense of my dancing.

Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?

Only when I arrived at the dance class and wondered what I’d go myself into.

What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?

She had a good personality and we got on easily.

What do you think your date made of you?

Well, her words were: “someone you could take home to your parents”.

Is there anything you would change about the evening?

I would have preferred a different activity, but was good to have a new experience.

Were there any sparks of potential?

I don’t think there were any, unfortunately.

Have you arranged to meet again, or will you in the future?

At the moment we have not arranged to meet again but have a feeling it’s unlikely.

Have you ever been on a blind date before?

No, this was the first time and definitely a fun first experience.

What made you want to go on a blind date?

I saw an article in Bristol24/7 last year and my colleague told me: “go for it!”.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?

Total British Prince Charming.

What did you talk about?

Our mutual lack of dancing skills, Scandinavia and everything in between.

What was the atmosphere like?

The pub we initially met in was very quirky and local, then after getting lost up Park Lane trying to find our date destination it was a very relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?

Definitely not.

What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?

He was very easy to get on with so no awkward silences!

What do you think your date made of you?

Positive, funny, bad dancer?

Is there anything you would change about the evening?

If I’d have known how hot the Parish hall was going to be I wouldn’t have worn polyester.

Did you go somewhere else after your meal?

We went back to the pub we met in for another well needed drink to wind down.

Were there any sparks of potential?

Unfortunately not for me.

Will you meet again?

Potentially, nothing on the cards though.
