New cycling festival to roll into Bristol
A new festival celebrating cycling culture in Bristol is coming to Brunel Quay.
Pedal promises stories, adventures, music, people, food and bikes, with highlights including:
- Cyclist yoga with Trika Yoga
- A road ride and off-road ride with Das Rad Klub
- Talks with authors Jack Thurston and Paul Jones
- Rollapaluza head-to-head roller racing
- Outdoor expo of bicycles and accessories and accessories
- Bicycle scavenger hunt hosted by YoBike

Spoke & Stringer owner Kristian Crews, Forever Pedalling owner Tim Wilkey and cyclist Lucy Rowe have joined forces to organise the festival, which takes place from August 17 to 19.
“We would love to get loads of cyclists from all different backgrounds down here,” Tim told Bristol24/7.
Lucy, who has previously helped Tim organise Das Rad Klub rides, says that her “whole life revolves around cycling”.
“For my mental health it has been a massive saviour,” she adds. “And the social side of it as well. I have met the majority of my friends in Bristol through cycling, and this festival is an opportunity for me to do something positive for the city’s cycling community.”
Pedal follows other events organised by Kristian and the Spoke & Stringer team themed around motorbikes and surfing, with cycling seen as the next obvious progression.
“I’m excited. Big time,” says Kristian. “This has been something that we have wanted to do since we opened.
“It’s about a lifestyle on two wheels. That’s why we are doing this. It’s about getting together and enjoying the whole escapism of cycling.”
