Pizza wars hot up in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Friday Aug 22, 2025

Bristol likes a good underdog story. A David versus Goliath tale of achieving against the odds.

The latest plucky independent to take on the might of the big boys is Pizzarova who are currently engaged in a tit-for-tat spat with a pizza chain who recently opened their first restaurant in Bristol.

The scene for the showdown is on Whiteladies Road where Pizzarova first put up some posters which around a fortnight later were covered by posters advertising Rudy’s.

Pizzarova have four restaurants in Bristol on Whiteladies Road, North Street, Gloucester Road and Park Street; Rudy’s have more than 30 restaurants across the country including on Baldwin Street.

After their posters were covered by ones advertising the Rudy’s location, the Pizzarova team struck back.

While Rudy’s posters promise ‘true Neapolitan pizza’, Pizzarova pride themselves on ‘true Bristol pizza’ on their own posters.

The plucky underdogs have again come out on top.
