New burger at Squeezed raises money for Bristol Night Shelter
All profits from a new burger for sale at Squeezed in Cargo 2 at Wapping Wharf are being donated to the Julian Trust, the charity behind Bristol Night Shelter.
The Big Church burger invented by Squeezed owner Alex Hayes costs £8 and is available until December 22.
It features a beef patty with double Swiss cheese, shoestring fries in the burger, shredded lettuce, IPA pickles and hot hollandaise sauce, all in a salty pretzel dough burger bun developed especially for Squeezed by Martin of Joe’s Bakery on Gloucester Road.

“It’s beefy, cheesy, buttery and smooth with a tang of beer pickles and a crunch of potato and lettuce,” says Alex.
“I wanted it to be ‘more than just a burger’ without taking anything away from the product which I’m happy with, I just didn’t want to put a special on and that be it.
“Cycling home late every night after work sees me head through the town centre and I am generally startled at the number of rough sleepers I’d see on that route alone.
“It’s getting very cold, often wet and it just brought it home at how hard it would be on the street.
“I always wanted Squeezed to be involved with a charity and could think of none better than the Julian Trust, who offer a bed, warm food and much needed support without any forms or questions asked. They are just there.”
