New Bristol-based vegan cream liqueur brand
A new Bristol-born cream liqueur brand promises to be “sustainable, beautiful and irresistibly smooth”.
Tequila Flora imports traditionally-made tequila from Mexico, before infusing it with coconut cream and flavourings, thereby offering a plant-based alternative to tequila rose.
After years of working in the alcohol industry, Emily Timberlake felt the urge to create something that was solely created “for women, by women”.

She told Bristol24/7: “I’ve been in the alcohol industry for about ten years. I wanted to create something truly sustainable and for women. I also wanted to create something that everybody can enjoy.”
Timberlake explained that excessive milk consumption for women could result in complications like feeling bloated, which pushed her to create something that was “much kinder to a woman’s body”.
Apart from being dairy-free, the Tequila Flora liqueurs are packaged in paper bottles, made from recycled paperboard.
Timberlake, who also owns a beverage sales and marketing consultancy, Flora Drinks, has put “all of her savings” into creating this new brand, which she runs from an office within her home in Avonmouth.
The coconut-cream infused liqueurs are available in Strawberry and Chocolate flavours and can be purchased from their website, with plans in the pipeline to soon have stocks across restaurants and shops in Bristol.
