Friska reopens first cafe under new ownership

By Martin Booth  Thursday Aug 12, 2021

The first Friska to reopen under new owners is now welcoming customers through its doors.

While the original Friska founders focus their attention on their new cafe, Double Puc on Glass Wharf, one of their former units is back open under new custodians.

Bristol24/7 understands that Renroc Capital, a turnaround investment vehicle, acquired most of Friska for around £260,000.

The cafe on Cathedral Walk in the Harbourside has become the first to be reopened by Renroc, with staff also spotted in the original Victoria Street branch on Thursday morning.

In Cathedral Walk, there was little to choose from in the fridges but breakfast options from the kitchen included the return of the house bacon toasted sandwich, porridge and muffins.

While one of their cafes is now open, the Friska website was not accessible on Thursday, while their social media channels have been inactive since July 5.
