Block parties complete St Jude’s global music festival lineup
Jam on the Horizon has announced two new additions to its day-to-night global music festival.
The third annual celebration of music and culture from round the world once again sees independent music venues the Jam Jar and Lost Horizon joining forces with neighbouring St Jude’s establishments the Volunteer and Swan With Two Necks.
And this year, as part of what organisers have described as its “biggest lineup yet”, the festival also features two new outdoor stages, run in collaboration with Bristol’s brightest event organisers, sound systems and musicians.
is needed now More than ever

“Jam on the Horizon is a collaborative effort between some of Bristol’s amazing independent venues and is becoming an essential platform for cultures from around the world in Bristol,” said Jam Jar’s Hadie Abido
Lost Horizon has teamed up with 1Relation Sound System to host a Block Party powered by dub and reggae sounds.
And the “magnificently uncompromising” AnExperience crew will be gearing up to their festival in June with Jammin’ in the Street, taking over the area outside the Jam Jar with samba bands, live music and DJs.
Of the music, “Think soul, ska, rocksteady and old r’n’b. Just lush community street party vibes really,” said festival organiser and DJ Kesh.

The party will also offer up award winning international street food – including Sri Lankan, Caribbean and Biria’s ‘life-affirming’ tacos – and locally sourced drinks.
The outdoor stages join a festival lineup that includes Afro-Cuban Rumba, Neo-Soul drenched Broken Beat and Sudanese Psych Funk. Close Encounters ft Allysha Joy, My Analog Journal and the Scorpios appear alongside Guts, Voilaaa Soundsystem, Cosmo Sofi, La Bomba and a Brakery takeover.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our biggest lineup to date for the third instalment of Jam on The Horizon,” said the Jam Jar ’s co-founder and director Hadie Abido.
“Alongside an amazing lineup of DJ’s and bands at the four venues, we will be activating the venue’s outdoor space to create that proper city festival feel in this unassuming part of Bristol.”
