Young actors bring National Theatre festival to Redgrave Theatre

By Rose McPhilemy  Wednesday Jan 24, 2018

Bristol’s brightest crop of young actors will perform at the Redgrave Theatre in February as part of NT Connections, the National Theatre’s annual festival of new plays for young people. First year diploma students from boomsatsuma’s professional acting diploma will make their debut with a production of Natalie Mitchell’s When They Go Low, a timely reflection of teenage sexuality, modern feminism, body shaming and bullying within an increasingly online world.

The diploma is a vocational course, newly developed in association with Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and offers professional drama training to young people 16 and over. Netflix’s Daredevil actor, and patron of the course Charlie Cox, says it offers students “a chance to understand what actor training is all about and get a headstart in learning their craft”.
