Kneecap announce intimate Bristol show
Irish hip hop trio Kneecap are returning in April to play a room roughly one-sixth the size of their last Bristol show.
The band’s appearance in the 3,000 capacity main room at the Prospect Building in November last year sold out within hours of tickets going on sale.
Now Rough Trade Bristol has secured a major coup by booking them for an intimate show at one of the city’s most longstanding independent venues.
It’s one of a handful of what the band have called “wee sweaty spots” they’re playing to celebrate their third album’s release on April 24, with the show taking place the day after.

It will be an up-close-and-personal experience for the crowd at the Fleece, a 450 capacity venue which has been hosting live music in its location on Thomas Street since 1982 with appearances from the likes of Radiohead, Oasis and Killing Joke.
Kneecap, whose popularity has risen globally not only because of their music but also following high profile court cases, run-ins with the UK government and an unwavering pro-Palestine, anti-oppression stance that has won the hearts of many, say Fenian is “a considered response to those who tried to silence us”.
The album is inspired by and named after warriors in Irish folklore named the ‘fenian’, with the word later used as a derogatory term for the Irish.
The lucky Bristol few who manage to secure tickets for this show will no doubt be in for a typically no-holds-barred performance from the band.
