Hyper-pop video features city centre locations
The latest release from fierce pop artist Tlya X An is an anxiety-riddled fever dream set against the streets of Bristol.
Losing is laced with emotional tension, capturing TXN’s fear of losing her spark after a long period alone and the uncertainty of finding love again.
Ultimately, she says, the track is about “self-worth, patience, and the kind of love that comes after finding it within”.
is needed now More than ever
Rupert Street car park and the graffitied tunnel under the railway tracks on Cattle Market Road are the backdrop to her outcry, as she runs through a doom-drenched landscape rendered otherworldly by videographer Oliver Whitehouse.
TXN directed and edited the video herself. The single is the latest in a long stream of releases from the vibrant hyper-pop artist who has been praised by BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, as well as Crack and Wax magazines.
She was made BBC Introducing’s Sound of the Week following her singles Camel Back and Ninja. Her first release this year, You Don’t Know Me, was a collaboration with another Bristol artist, Boofy, and released on his new imprint Taekform.
Tlya X An performs live at the Gotobeat Festival at Trinity Centre, Old Market, on September 6.
