Bristol’s first ever sober rave to turn up heat
Raves and lashings of booze? Think again. Trinity Centre and Bristol Sober Spaces have joined forces for the first time to present a high-octane, alcohol-free rave that promises all the energy of a classic Bristol night out, minus the substances.
Taking over the outdoor space at the Trinity Centre in Old Market, the event will feature an evening of music from some of the city’s most celebrated DJs, alongside a calm and restorative indoor “chill zone” for those seeking a slower pace.
The event will be held on Sunday, August 3, and will be bookended by two giants of the drum and bass scene.

Nicky Blackmarket, a household name with more than three decades behind the decks and a legacy that includes co-owning the iconic Blackmarket Records and playing at London’s legendary AWOL nights, will kick things off at 2pm.
Closing the night from 8-9pm will be none other than Roni Size, Bristol’s own Mercury Prize-winning producer and one of the most influential figures in the genre. Known for defining tracks such as Brown Paper Bag, New Forms, and Heroes, his set promises to bring the event to a culmination.
In between these heavyweight sets, a stellar line-up of local talent will keep the energy flowing.
Attendees can look forward to performances from Milly on Air, Steven Stone, Discobobulator, Josephine Gyasi, and MISNEACH, showcasing the depth and diversity of Bristol’s electronic music scene.
Inside, the Sensory Lounge will offer a low-stimulation space to relax and reconnect. Featuring soft textures, warm lighting and comforting drinks like herbal tea and hot cocoa, the lounge provides a soothing alternative to the high-energy main stage.
For those looking to go deeper into rest and restoration, a dedicated wellness space will be hosted by Phöebe Hares, a psychologist and trauma-informed yoga teacher, and Mez Olivia, a trauma-informed massage therapist and yoga practitioner.

Bristol Sober Spaces, founded in 2020, is part of a growing international movement to normalise alcohol- and drug-free nightlife.
These events are open to everyone, with one key twist: there’s no alcohol on sale. By removing the pressure to drink, the events create a more accessible, inclusive environment where all are welcome—regardless of why they choose not to drink.
