Bristol acoustic guitarist’s cover video goes viral
Mike Dawes, an acoustic guitarist from Bristol, is enjoying huge success thanks to his new video.
The performance, an acoustic cover of the Metallica hit One, has had more than 4.8 million views on Facebook within 24 hours of its release. Dawes posted the video as a sneak peak of his long-awaited second album ERA, set to be released on September 15 2017.
He is also celebrating the announcement that he will be touring with Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues throughout September and October 2017.
“The first single from the record is this cover of the Metallica hit, One,” Mike says. “Anyone who knows the original can identify with the challenge of performing this track solo. It’s my mum’s favourite, and she doesn’t even like Metallica, or acoustic shred guitar!”
