Girl and dog broadcast to cinemas
Bristol Hippodrome‘s upcoming Christmas panto Dick Whittington will become the first pantomime to be screened live in cinemas nationwide. The satellite broadcast takes place on Sunday 7 December. Dick Whittington stars Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey. Cinemagoers who successfully dodge reality TV may recall that Pudsey (a dog) made his big-screen debut earlier this year in Pudsey the Dog: The Movie. Alas, this was neither a critical nor commercial success for the canine scamp, with critic Mark Kermode remarking that “nothing can explain (or excuse) the sheer skull-scraping ugliness of this relentlessly tacky Britain’s Got Talent spin-off”. Doubtless, the Hippodrome will be hoping for better reviews.
