It’s a familiar superhero story. The nerd community flocks to cinemas during the opening weekend, sending the latest release to the top of the chart. But nobody else is particularly interested, so the film records a big drop during its second week on release. This time it was the turn of Venom: The Last Dance, which slid to second place as The Wild Robot reclaimed the top spot over the half-term weekend. Of the new releases, Heretic, which has earned Hugh Grant the best reviews of his career, bagged third place ahead of Irish drama Small Things Like These and Cannes Palme d’Or winner Anora. Poor old Clint Eastwood had to settle for lowly 10th place with his legal thriller Juror #2.
