Those frantic animated vermin might have led critics to side with Mr. McGregor, but Peter Rabbit is proving a big hit with nippers, comfortably holding off the challenge from soulless, Del Toro-free sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising to claim a second week at the top of the chart. Disney’s rival family flick A Wrinkle in Time enjoyed a rather more soft opening, though both films should enjoy an Easter boost, especially if, as predicted, it pisses with rain. Speaking of Easter, Mary Magdelene has rather embarrassingly died the death, despite all that hype, and shows no sign of staging a miraculous resurrection during the upcoming god-bothery holiday. By contrast, The Greatest Showman has finally broken through the £40m barrier after 13 weeks on release. We’d predict it’ll start to fade now, but we’ve made that mistake before. Flop of the week? As in the US, Proud Mary had nothing to be proud about, taking a pitiful £27,000 nationwide.
