A journey to discover the roots of traditional flamenco
Two years after its debut, Flamenco Orígenes returns to UK stages with a country-wide tour that comes to St George’s on September 28.
The show is presented by London-based Lourdes Fernández Flamenco Company, and features six performers leading “an epic adventure spanning multiple continents and hundreds of years”, in search of the roots of the beloved dance style.
Audiences can expect to be transported from Cuba to Cairo, Argentina to Andalusia, and from India to Central Africa, through the power of flamenco.

Alongside rising British-Sri Lankan star Josie Laurel, they are led by Madrid-born Lourdes Fernández, who has been dancing flamenco since the age of five, and has gone on to exhibit a lifelong dedication to the art.
The dancers are backed by a four-piece band of Spanish musicians, led by master flamenco guitarist Adrián Solá.
Such is their passion, the company is keen to inspire newcomers as well as to entertain those who would consider themselves flamenco fanatics.
Flamenco Orígenes is at St George’s on September 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at www.stgeorgesbristol.co.uk. For more information visit www.lourdesfernandezflamenco.com.
