Autumn comedy tour shows visiting 1532 Performing Arts Centre
Tucked behind the Clifton Triangle, 1532 Performing Arts Centre is also part of Bristol Grammar School.
When not in use by BGS, however, it is ideally placed to host evening screenings and performances from touring acts. In the autumn of 2025, the venue will be welcoming a succession of comedians, thanks to Bristol comedy promoters, Chuckle Busters.
First up is critically hailed comic Sean McLoughlin, who has opened for Ricky Gervais and Bill Burr, and whose TV credits include Live at The Apollo, Mock The Week, and The Stand-Up Sketch Show.

His current show White Elephant comes to Bristol in the midst of a European tour that takes in cities including Oslo, Vienna, Ljubljana, Helsinki, Rotterdam and Zurich, and will move on to a clutch of further European and Canadian dates in the spring of 2026.

Also back on the road is internationally known Irish comedian, actor and author Ardal O’Hanlon, whose memorable role as Father Dougal McGuire in Father Ted earned him a British Comedy Award, BAFTA nominations and a huge fanbase.
Examining what he calls “the joys and follies of contemporary life”, his new show Not Himself comes to theatres throughout Ireland and the UK in the coming months.

After a successful Edinburgh Fringe run, comedian and podcaster Horatio Gould has extended his tour of Return of the Space Cowboy, which first visited The Wardrobe Theatre for back-to-back shows on May 17 and comes to the 1532 on November 27.
“At the age of 27, Horatio is tribal elder of Gen Z”, we’re told. “Existing on the cusp of two age groups and desperate for something meaningful to believe in, Horatio explores the crisis facing young people seeking purpose in life that isn’t fat jeans or rock-climbing.”

Chuckle Busters presents: Sean McLoughlin: White Elephant on October 2; Ardal O’Hanlon: not Himself on October 26, and Horatio Gould: Return of the Space Cowboy on November 27; all shows are at 7.30pm.
