Banksy Di-Faced Tenner Up For Grabs
Upfest has a very special prize available to anyone who donates ten pounds or more to their Kickstarter funding campaign. The campaign needs to raise £6,000 in four days to reach their £15,000 target.
Original Banky artwork is not easy to come by. However, as Upfest founder Stephen Hayles explains, sometimes the very unexpected does happen: “We received a genuine Di faced Note from an old festival friend and wanted to use this as a way to raise money for our crowd-funding appeal, so what we are doing is asking for £10 donations and when we reach our £15,000 target each donor will be put forward into a prize draw to win the piece of art.
“Upfest relies on the goodwill of a lot of people including volunteers and the lovely people of Bedminster and Bristol, but this year, we really wanted to make Upfest 2015 the best one to date! We’re really thankful to everyone who has already donated towards our cause and they’ll already be in the prize draw for the Di-faced Tenner.”
Upfest is the largest street art festival in Europe with more than 25,000 people expected to attend this year’s festival from July 25-27.
Visitors will see more than 30,000 square feet of walls, billboards and buildings painted by some of the most famous street artists in the world including Inkie, Sepr, My Dog Sighs, Jody, Dale VN Marshall, Dutch duo Telmo Miel, Martin Ron from Argentina, Croatian artist LONAC and the first man to ever paint the Berlin Wall – Thierry Noir.
Upfest are not paid for organising the festival every year, with the money raised going towards the infrastracture of the festival.
The festival will also give The National Association for Children of Alcoholics – a charity which offers a confidential phone line for children affected by alcoholism within their family – a platform for fundraising.
