Art / Art Trail
South Bristol Arts Trail returns
The end of summer and the transition into autumn is often a time of creative abundance.
In Bristol, that theory is certainly borne out by the number of community events that celebrate a city of artists, and artistry.
Art trails and open studios provide an ideal way for artists to bring people into their day-to-day worlds, to share their practice, and to sell their work.
is needed now More than ever

Running for over a decade in and around the streets of BS3, the annual South Bristol Arts Trail is one such free annual weekend that offers art enthusiasts a chance to be inspired.
From September 20-21, over 100 local artists will exhibit their work in their homes, studios and community spaces including schools and cafés.

A warm welcome is promised at South Bristol Art Trail

Art and handmade crafts are available to buy direct from artists
With a commitment to accessibility, the event makes use of a large number of fully accessible spaces, and their proximity to each other is such that most visitors will be able to walk or cycle as they explore the participating venues.
There are also a range of ‘pit stops’ to offer refreshments to art lovers as they go.

There are opportunities to take part in creative workshops across the weekend

Many houses become exhibition spaces for the weekend
“Wander through our streets and discover new artists, favourite local venues and creatives that might just surprise you”, the organisers say.
“From performers, painters and papercraft to ceramics, sculptures and sketchers, the Trail celebrates the breadth of creativity locally, with something for all to enjoy.”
South Bristol Arts Trail takes place around Southville, Bedminster and Ashton on September 20-21 from 11am-5pm daily. For more information, visit www.southbristolarts.co.uk or follow @southbristolartstrail.
