‘Inclusive and a little bit silly’ arts festival to platform local creators
Zinezilla, an arts festival for comics, zines, illustrations and animations, is set to return for its biggest edition.
The aim of Zinezilla, which is taking place at Trinity Centre, is to bring together many different disciplines and creatives from Bristol, the South West and beyond.
It all began when founders Mereida Fajardo and Marcy Fraser were illustration students at UWE Bristol.
is needed now More than ever
Fajardo said: “Having both moved to Bristol during covid and desperately seeking community and events to get involved with, we ended up running our own fair.”
Downstairs, the festival will have 60 artists selling prints, comics, ceramics, clothing, zines and stickers created by local and national creators and artists.

For 2025, Zinezilla has teamed up with animation crew ANIMINSPO which will be showcasing emerging and independent animators.
Other activities include a collage zine-making workshop run by cartoonist and educator Jenny Robins, a poetry and comics workshop run by poet and editor Chrissy Williams and an illustration and zine-making workshop.
There will also be life drawing by movement artist Sharkey with moving poses based on clowns.
Fajardo added: “We wanted the event to be accessible, inclusive and a little bit silly. Every year we aim to feature a mix of established artists and upcoming creatives.”
“We’re so excited to be able to feature more artists and activities than ever before, and hopefully bring the event to even more audiences.”
The event takes place between 11am and 6pm on Sunday at Trinity Centre with £3 entry, which includes a raffle ticket.
