Audio river walk experience to feature in busy programme for Art on the Hill
Taking place annually on the first weekend in October, Art on the Hill (AOTH) is a chance for artists and makers in Windmill Hill and Victoria Park to introduce people to their work, as well as a fun and vibrant weekend for the local community.
Participating venues include a number of artists’ homes alongside community venues such as Victoria Park Primary School, the Windmill Hill Community Centre and St Michael and All Angels Church.
The huge range of work on show across the weekend includes painting, drawing and illustration, photography, film, jewellery and textiles, ceramics, printmaking, paper, glass, woodwork, sculpture and more, with multiple chances to buy locally made art at an affordable price.

As ever, a programme of activities and performances is planned across the weekend to enhance the experience for those on the trail.
Amongst these is the launch of the audio river walk experience from composer Liam Taylor-West and members of the Bedminster community, A River’s Song; a listening exhibition for this project will be running at Bedminster’s Philip Street chapel from October 2-4.

“This year, we encourage as much community spirit as possible and look forward to finding out what everyone has been making and crafting”, AOTH organisers say.
“We hope that many artists will get involved with window displays and in-home displays.”
