Another new Banksy appears with two elephants

By Cristina Pinuaga  Tuesday Aug 6, 2024

You wait ages for a new Banksy and then two come along in the space of as many days – with speculation that the animal silhouettes are the start of a new series.

Appearing the day after a mountain goat in Richmond, the elusive Bristol street artist has taken credit for another animal-themed piece.

This new mural shows the silhouettes of two elephants’ heads, reaching out for each other with their trunks, painted across two bricked-up windows on the side of a house on the corner of Edith Terrace and Gunter Grove in Chelsea.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

The Bristol-born artist claimed the piece as he did the previous one – he posted a picture of it onto his official Instagram page.

Banksy enthusiasts have already labelled this work as the ‘Elephant in the Room’, alluding to political themes.

One Instagram user said: “Can you see the elephant in the room?”

Another commented: “The act of reaching out can indicate a process of healing and reconciliation, overcoming past conflicts, and moving towards a harmonious future.”
