Bristol Grand Prix brings thrills and spills

Elite cycle road racing came to the heart of Bristol on Saturday as the inaugural Bristol Grand Prix was held on a 1.3km figure of eight circuit featuring tight turns and thrills and spills aplenty.

Before the men’s, women’s and youth races, a few members of the public were allowed to test the course, which began and finished on College Green and incorporated St George’s Road, Deanery Road, Frog Lane, Unity Street and Denmark Street.

One of the most technical sections was next to the Hatchet:
