Nick Walker designs smaller than usual vandal
It’s not possible to miss Bristol street artist Nick Walker’s largest piece in the city – a six-storey-high figure pouring paint down onto Nelson Street.
His latest piece is slightly smaller. 23cm-high to be exact.
Made out of porcelain, the figurine is a miniature version of his most recognisable figure known as the vandal, this time pouring paint onto a miniature Houses of Parliament.
It is the first time the vandal character has ever been recreated in 3D form, with the figurine specially created to celebrate Royal Doulton’s 200th anniversary.
Walker emerged from the Bristol graffiti scene in the early 1980s and since then has continually evolved his style, mostly using hand-cut stencils and freehand painting.
His stencil Rapunzel can be found on the side of the Highbury Vaults pub on St Michael’s Hill, a butterfly is behind the Colston Hall and a young girl vandal carrying spray cans on Anchor Road.
