Ryanair increase Bristol flights 5 per cent

By Laura Collacott  Monday Oct 31, 2016

Ryanair will be upping its capacity from Bristol Airport by 5 per cent in summer 2017 with two new routes to Bucharest and Venice, in addition to existing flights to Alicante, Malaga and Palma, and extra flights to Warsaw.

The additions will bring Ryanair’s total routes from Bristol to 30 and will deliver 1.7m passengers annually.

The carrier also promises lower fares as they pass on lower fuel costs.

Bristol Airport’s head of aviation, Pete Downes, said: “We are delighted that Ryanair has chosen to add two new summer routes to the network available from Bristol Airport. Whether measured by total seats on sale or number of destinations featured, this is the most extensive schedule Ryanair has ever operated from Bristol Airport and offers customers living in the South West and Wales a wider range of choices than ever before.

“Our new service to Bucharest in Romania represents the first time this destination has ever been served from the South West, demonstrating the important role regional airports continue to play in offering choice and connectivity with the added convenience of flying locally.”
