Free training offered to community-minded startups

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Jun 13, 2018

New businesses looking for help to tackle environmental or social issues are invited to a fully funded two-day startup training event, that will take place across June 21-22 at SETsquared’s Innovation Centre in Bath.

The free training is for anyone committed to exploring a new business idea but not yet setup, early-stage founders, charities considering new ways of earning, and experienced business people wanting a new direction.

Over the two days, participants will get the tools and skills they need to create a business plan, test out their ideas and choose the next steps to make their ideas a reality. Workshop leaders will also cover issues that are specific to social businesses, offer guidance on grants and investments, and explore what support is there to help take a new business forward.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The sessions will be run by the EU-funded Social Enterprise and Innovation Program (SEIP), which is currently supporting 190 people to start a new business and 87 social enterprises to grow. Whether they provide innovative learning aids for children, use apps to distribute excess food to the community or create new careers for veterans, these entrepreneurs came to SEIP to overcome barriers to starting up.
