New senior appointment and promotion following hat-trick of clients for Bristol PR agency
Following a hat-trick of major new client wins in May, Bristol-based PR and communications agency Strike Communications has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Cheryl Campsie as associate director.
Cheryl brings a wealth of experience in developing and delivering multi-platform communications and engagement campaigns.
Previously with a leading social change PR consultancy, she spearheaded initiatives that helped shift public attitudes on issues such as mental health, cycling, and drink driving. Her career also includes senior roles at Avon and Somerset Police and the University of Bristol. Most recently, she led an award-winning campaign for an NHS trust focused on complex health and social challenges.

Strike has won multiple awards at both local and national levels and was recently described by leading anti-fascist organisation HOPE not Hate as “small but mighty”
In her new role, Cheryl will lead key client work and support managing director Catherine Frankpitt with business development and the agency’s strategic growth.
Alongside Cheryl’s arrival, team member Mateo Handley has been promoted to senior account executive.
Mateo joined Strike two years ago as a recent graduate from the UWE Bristol, following a brief placement at a London agency. In his new role, he will take on greater responsibility for leading media relations and political engagement for several clients.
Founded in 2020, Strike Communications was created with a mission to deliver “communications for good.” Since then, the agency has earned a reputation as a leading regional player in strategic PR, stakeholder engagement, and impactful communications for organisations driving positive social change.
Strike has won multiple awards at both local and national levels and was recently described by leading anti-fascist organisation HOPE not Hate as “small but mighty”.
Commenting on her new role, Cheryl said: “I’m passionate about strategic communications that drive positive change. I’m excited to join the talented team at Strike and work with clients who are tackling some of society’s most complex challenges. As a small group of committed citizens, I truly believe we can make a real difference.”

“We’re proud to be a values-led agency with a passionate team that delivers exceptional work for causes we care deeply about,” said Catherine Frankpitt, managing director at Strike Communications
Catherine Frankpitt, managing director at Strike, said: “Despite operating in a challenging economic environment, the agency has continued to thrive. This year has brought a wave of exciting new clients and projects, and our team has risen to meet the moment.
“We’re proud to be a values-led agency with a passionate team that delivers exceptional work for causes we care deeply about. Cheryl is a fantastic addition—she’s a highly respected communications professional whose experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.”
