Pop: Laetitia Sadier
Vanessa Kisuule, March 30, 2017
Laetitia Sadier first achieved recognition as the lead singer of Stereolab whose lounge-pop, bossa nova, film music and Krautrock influences combined with hypnotic vocals and leftist lyrics made the band a distinctive presence throughout the 90s and early 00s. Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble launches in 2017 with new release Find Me Finding You, which finds Sadier joining forces with long term collaborators Emmanuel Mario and Xavi Munoz. It also features keyboard and flutes parts played by David Thayer, as well as further keys, synths and electronics from Phil M FU and several intense guitar sequences from Mason le Long.

Around Laetitia’s compelling vocals, The Source Ensemble deliver synth lines that dive, lift and drift between unusual guitar textures with the plucked sound of flat wound bass strings and the bottomless pulsing of bass pedals stepping out of the mix with an exquisite vibrancy.
