Following the death of his estranged father, American musician Paul (Willem Dafoe) travels to the remote Mexican village of Real de Catorce to settle the old boy’s affairs. Here he becomes obsessed with the fate of a young Romanian woman who disappeared in mysterious circumstances 30 years earlier.
Magnificently shot in widescreen by Matias Penachino, Daniel Graham‘s feature debut as writer/director is best appreciated by audiences who like their arthouse meditations on culture and philosophy opaque and elusive.
