A hit African-American spin on the popular ‘girls behaving badly’ genre from Malcolm D. (cousin of Spike) Lee, whose credits include the Best Man flicks and, erm, Scary Movie 5.
This one has a bunch of lifelong pals (Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, etc) heading to New Orleans for a festival, whereupon all kinds of misbehaviour ensues. It’s back on screen in Come the Revolution’s No B/S series, which celebrates black comedy as part of the BFI’s Comedy Genius season.
