Shredenhams promises ‘the best community vibes in Bristol’
Bristol’s former Debenhams will soon be transformed into Shredenhams.
The new skatepark, cafe and bar in the former department store in Broadmead is from the same team behind the Campus Pool and Park spaces “but with a unique twist”.
Shredenhams will “blend skateboarding and socialising, with quality coffee and beers in a space designed for both skaters and anyone looking to relax and have a good time”.
is needed now More than ever
On the opening day on Friday, there will be free skate passes all day, DJs and a limited amount of ten per cent discount cards for the cafe, bar and skating sessions.
There will also be retro arcade games, pool and table tennis; and a versatile event space is open to collaborations at the space which is “skateboarder-owned and built with skateboarding at its core”.

The launch day from 3pm to 11pm is described as an “unforgettable day with skating, music, drinks and the best community vibes in Bristol”.
A Bristol-based non-profit, Campus – whose two existing locations are in Bishopsworth and Winterbourne – aim to “remove all barriers” from skating.
They describe Shredenhams as their “biggest project to date”, an inclusive space that “blends skateboarding and socialising with quality coffee and beers”.

Due to health and safety concerns, the organisers have decided to limit access to the skate park for over-16s but offer reassurance that they will run events to welcome younger skaters and their families soon.
Shredenhams will only be a temporary space as planning permission was granted in 2024 for a major new development on the site featuring a 28-storey tower.
More than 500 flats will form part of the development on The Horsefair as part of a scheme called Barr’s Street, named after a street set to be reinstated as part of the plans.
