Manning finally confirms move to Norwich
The worst kept secret in Bristol football has been confirmed with Liam Manning named as the new manager of Norwich City.
Manning leaves Ashton Gate after just one full season to rejoin his hometown club who finished lower in the Championship table than Bristol City last season.
Speaking to the Canaries’ club media, 39-year-old Manning said: “I’m privileged and honoured to have the opportunity to work for this fantastic football club. It’s a wonderful club with a big history and tradition.”

Bristol City chairman Jon Lansdown said: “We are disappointed to lose Liam after such a successful campaign.
“I would like to place on record my thanks to Liam for his hard work and commitment over the past 18 months and the memories we have made together and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
Lansdown said the club is “assessing all options” as they look for a new manager ahead of the new season, with Rob Edwards, Rubén Sellés and Tom Cleverley among the bookies’ current favourites.
