With less than three weeks until the Tour of Britain spends a day at a unique dual stage in Bristol on Saturday, September 10, mayor Marvin Rees joined members of the Bristol South cycle club and staff from stage sponsors Ovo Energy to experience part of the route.

Not just any part of the route either – Bridge Valley Road, categorised as a King of the Mountains climb in the race which will feature an individual time trial in the morning and a seven-lap race in the afternoon.

Rees spoke to Bristol24/7 soon after completing the ride:

The individual time trial will take place in the morning and seven-lap circuit race in the afternoon

Top riders including Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins have been confirmed to take part.
