Bristol24/7 host a street photography workshop

By Lowie Trevena  Friday Jun 14, 2019

Ten individuals wanting to improve their photo taking skills gathered at The Greenbank in Easton, ready to take photos of Bristol’s cultural crown jewel.

They were part of a street photography workshop with photographer Colin Moody which was organised with Better Bristol, part of Bristol24/7.

Bristol24/7 promotes local photos and photography through the monthly Instagram showcase and, more recently, through reader photo of the month. The reader photo of the month is now the centre page spread of the monthly magazine.

The course attendees had cameras ranging from smartphones to digital DSLRs, ready to learn how to take an urban shot that told a story or expressed a feeling.

An initial conversation in a corner of the pub revealed a diverse group of people on the course, from three Aardman employees to an electrical advisor.

After Colin found out what each person wanted to get from the two and a half hour workshop, the group headed towards the Jamia Masjid Mosque before venturing along St Mark’s Road, taking photographs of the busy street that will be shown in the near future.
